West Highland White Terrier

West Highland Terrier
Darcy's Kennel

This breed of dog came from Scotland where it was bred to have a white coat, so it could be easily seen when hunting. Although mainly a family pet these days,it is still keen for a little sport with any small animals it may come across, for example, cats.

Coat: Hard and wiry, always white.

Weight: around 8 kg.

Height: around 28 cm.

This breed is good with children as it is lively and friendly. It is also a good friend for older people as it has a fairly sensible nature.A quick brush every few days will keep the coat clean and tidy, with a slight trim a couple of times a year. With its compact size, hardy constitution and happy nature, this is a great family dog. It is a good watchdog. This breed can get by without lots of formal exercise because it will be very active around the garden, but it does love a game or a walk. Avoid contact with other male dogs on a walk, as they may scrap.
