  • Why can't I see the changes you made to my webpage?
    Try clicking the Refresh button on your browser to get the latest copy of the page.

  • I haven't got FTP access, how do I add or change web pages on my site?
    Email us the pages and images and we will install them or upload them to your directory in the public ftp server and send email letting us know. There is no charge for this service, if you want us to fix errors, let us know and we will quote a price. An alternative is the Online File Manager.

  • Where is the public FTP server?
    ftp.wolfweb.com.au Login: anonymous Password: Your email address.
    For FTP transfers, we recommend ACEFTP, there is a shareware version, or you can buy the full version from us- includes support. Check out the Wolf Web Software Centre for details.

  • What is involved in Web Design?

  • What do you use for Web Design?

  • Will you ask me for my password?
    No. If anyone asks for your password, pretending to be us or otherwise, forward the email including full headers to us or any information you have.

  • How Do Web Host Servers Work?

  • How Do I register a Domain Name?
    When you host your web site with us, we will register or move your domain for free. Your only cost is the registration fee payable to the name authority. You can just "Park" your Domain Name with us until you are ready to build your site for a minimal yearly cost. For more info on Domain Names, see: Domain Names.

  • I use Windows 95 / 98 / ME / XP / Mac / Linux / Pocket PC / Etc. to develop my web site, can I still host my web site on your system?
    Yes. You can develop your web site on any type of operating system and host it here. Most of our customers use either Windows or Mac but many others use other types of OS.

  • I'm located in another City/State/Country, can I still host my site with you?
    Yes. We have Web Hosting, Web Design and other clients located in most Australian States and Territories and internationally - USA and other countries. Most queries can quickly and efficiently handled by Email, Live Chat via the Web or our phones are open 9am to Midnight every day.

  • I use my local ISP for Internet access, do I continue to use them when my site is hosted with you?
    Yes. You continue to use your ISP to access the World Wide Web and upload your Web Site, etc.

  • What is a CGI?
    CGI (Common Gateway Interface) adds functionality to your website by allowing you to run scripts and programs. Examples are processing forms, searches, forums and shopping carts. CGI programs can be written in a number of languages, including PERL and C,C++. More Info

  • What are the differences between POP email and aliased/forwarded email?
    A POP (Point Of Presence) account is where your email is stored. It can be accessed with an account name and password while aliased/forwarded email is delivered to a POP account - (such as your dial-up ISP email account. More Info

  • I am using Internet Explorer 5.0 or 5.01 and having trouble with SSL When I click on the padlock at the bottom of my screen it indicates that "This certificate has failed to verify for all of its intended purposes". What is wrong?

    A bug exists in Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 and 5.01 for Microsoft Windows 95, 98 and NT 4 which causes IE to return the error message "This certificate has failed to verify for all its intended purposes". More information about this bug can be found on Microsoft's Web site: http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q233/4/79.ASP

    As mentioned on the Microsoft site, the problem applies to any Web site using Server Gated Cryptography. Clicking on the Certificate Path tab in the dialog box will confirm the certificate status is OK. The Wolf Web security certificate is valid and your security has not been compromised in any way.
